DAPA: KNOW IT ALL – EASY AS 1-2-3
1. Not all parents of U.S. citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents (green card holders) will qualify.
Applicants must meet requirements to be eligible to receive DAPA status. Having U.S. citizens child(ren) is simply one requirements, there are other requirements that applicants must meet. (Read more about DAPA requirements HERE.)
2. CANNOT apply now!!
USCIS does NOT accept DAPA application UNTIL May 19, 2015. The filing fee, at this time, is $465, which includes costs for application review and background check.
3. STILL many unclear answers.
Because the program is new, there are many unclear answers. Such as, does ‘children’ include the adopted children? (which would make step-parents of U.S. citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents (green card holders) meet one of the requirements? Definition of “continuous residency” for 5 years.
By the way, DAPA program is NOT a scam. The president and all the Executive Branch agencies have authority to make this program in effect.
